The "Biennial", now in its fifth edition, as noted, focuses mainly on two events:
The Exhibition of the history of the Biennale was held with great success in recent months of September and October at Tokyo exhibition hall at the Italian Cultural Centre, with the proposal of the Japan Studio Architects and of the Italian Cultural Centre, to make it a biennial appointment in the Japanese capital; all this reflected its growing international prestige, as witnessed by the request for informations on the next edition arrived from the Embassy of Mexico in Rome,from Italy and from the world , in confirmation of the national and international expectation on the event.
The National Order of Architects has already confirmed that during the Ceremony of the Prize and opening of the two exhibitions (26-27 October 2011), will be held in Padua the National Conference of Order of Italian Architects.
The award, with the notice prepared in accordance with U.N.E.S.C.O Regulation . and approved by UIA, aims to keep alive the memory of Barbara through:
- improving quality of the design of contemporary architecture in relation with the territory
- raising awareness of citizens towards the promotion of architecture, as well of collective interest
- the recognition of the role of the designer and construction through its characters.
Works of architecture and interior design (new construction) completed between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2011 can participate in the 5th edition of the "Barbara Cappochin"Prize.
The International Jury, majority foreign pursuant to UNESCO Regulation, consists of:

The Award Ceremony will take place October 26, 2011 at the Teatro Verdi.
The Exhibition at Palazzo della Ragione will focus on the theme of sustainable regeneration of urban peripheries, which is working from some time, a large group of experts of the Architects of Padua, together with the National Order and the Conference of the Italian Order, with the advice legal Stella Paul Richter.
This will be the central theme of the exhibition at the Palazzo della Ragione with the exposure of 6 / 8 national and international experiences in urban renewal and redevelopment, currently under selection, not only innovative in terms of urban-architecture, but also in the socio legal, economic, focusing mainly on three levels:
- the challenges of the contemporary world and its ways of living, working, living, the ethnic diversity
- sustainability through the use of new technologies, environmentally friendly and to ensure the saving of resources
- the integration and continuity with the existing urban fabric, the history of places and events local identity.
Designer of the exhibition will be Michele De Lucchi, architect of international renown, with a study in Milan.
The Exhibition will be accompanied by several lectures and discussions with architects, planners, lawyers, experts in urban sociology, directors of major national and international cities being virtuous innovative interventions with specific examples to demonstrate the inescapable necessity and practicability of a new culture of government of the territory.
