Smart City


Starting from the definition of smart growth promoted by the  European Uniion and aimed at the development  of a economy based on knowledge and innovation, it is possible to image a city of future in which technology is at the service of urban , social and economic development, with the obiective of stimulating growth through new jobs and new means of interaction.

This is a city that is not only techonogical in appearance, but also innovative inn its substance - from energy performance to leading edge contruction system and the creation of a parallel digital city capable of broadly sharing knowledge, infomation and ideas.

The designers selected for this section have the commom denominator of the construction of city section with innovative  characteristics and elements capable of producing flexibke spaces that can be adapted ti different contexts, shells with  a high technologiocal level, complex infrastucture that combines transport, permeability and public space.
These are  accompained by examples on entire district that have risen from the ashes of a new ended industrial past, expressed by differen interventions and a esssential functional mix for recovery of an important role in the city.
