Motivation of the Jury:
With the Botanic Garden Art project, the Japanese architect Junya Ishigami proposes his own vision of architecture and landscape that sees natural elements - trees, vegetation, water - becoming the main building materials of his project.
A spectacular result, able to build a free space, to be crossed and live poetically, in the shade of the trees among mosses, stones and water.
The masterful composition of the horizontal elements of the soil are composed with the verticality of the shafts of the trees and with the roof of the fronds, to form a suggestive atmosphere of "internal" space, even if outdoors.
The architect uses plant materials in a tectonic manner, creating a "natural landscape built" of rare beauty and intensity.
