The exhibit protagonist will be  ZAHA HADID.

Zaha Hadid is an architect who constantly challenges architecture’s known limits - from urban planning to design. Through her research, Zaha Hadid constantly explores and defines new spatial concepts.

In 2004 Zaha Hadid was chosen as the recipient of the Pritzker Prize, which is considered as the Nobel Prize for architecture, and she is known internationally for her academic contributions. To Zaha Hadid the relationship between architecture and landscape is fundamental since it combines together bringing about unexpected results in terms of dynamic shapes.

Some of her most important works include the Phaeno Science Center in Wolfsburg, Germany which fully represents the results of Zaha Hadid’s search to define complex spatial shapes that are characterized by dynamism and fluidity.

Other works such as the Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Arts in Cincinnati, USA and the Central Building for the BMW factory in Leipzig, Germany are acclaimed as examples of architecture that transform the idea of future through unexplored visionary concepts of space and form.

At the moment Zaha Hadid is working on a number of projects including: the Aquatic Centre for the London 2012 Olympics; the Signature Towers in Dubai; the Performing Arts Centre in Abu Dhabi; the Opera House in Guangzhou, China; private homes in the United States and Russia; and master-planning projects in Spain, Istanbul and the Middle East.

In Italy Zaha Hadid is working on the project CityLife for the restoration of the former Fair area in Milan; the Museum of Nuragic and Contemporary Art in Cagliari; the new Ferry Terminal at the port in Salerno; the new Railway station Napoli-Afragola; regenerating the waterfront area in Reggio Calabria as well as on MAXXI the National Museum 21st Century Arts, which will open in Rome during the summer of 2009.

Zaha Hadid’s work was the subject of a retrospective at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York during 2006 and at the Design Museum in London during 2007.
